All My Art is Dead is an in-progress series inspired by turmoil and uncertainty that graduating in the time of COVID has created for myself and others. The series utilizes “dead” material such as bones, twigs, or fur to symbolize the morbid feeling of existential dread and death yet in a manner that is intended to be beautiful symbolizing the attempt to move forward despite these feelings. Each piece contains a gemstone to represent hope and, ironically, life. There is a mysticism and magic to gemstones. Even in the age of science and reason the idea that certain gemstones can promote healing, emotional balance, and luck persists.
